Monday catching up stuff…

We drove 75 miles and over a 12K pass to Lake City yesterday.  This is the First Baptist Church, famous for its beautiful stained glass windows.  We enjoyed a good BBQ lunch in town before heading to Creede.

And this is Lake San Cristobal, just outside Lake City.  Very peaceful place that we could enjoy visiting again.  IMGP9731

And here is the mighty fisherman, just as he was about to cast off on the Rio Grande the other day.  It was hard to maneuver the canoe alone through the rapid waters and attempt to catch dinner.   The fish were quite safe!IMGP9674

So last night we said goodbye to nice neighbor Garry over a slice of blueberry pie, and both went our separate ways this morning…him toward Denver, and us back to the intown cg where I am at the moment doing 3 loads of laundry and catching up on emails.

We made the decision to be vendors at an FMCA convention in OR ahead of the caravan we are joining on 8/15, so we are stepping up our time table a bit and only staying one more night here in South Fork before hitting the road tomorrow.

That means we moved up our dinner reservation to tonight for our anniversary celebration.  Perfectly OK with us.  Celebrations work on whatever date they happen, right?

Enjoy your Monday, y’all.  We sure will!  Check back tomorrow for details of where the Griswolds are heading next…
