Soggy and cold Mayberry

This is the driveway that we share with Amy and Jason.  That brown “pond” is normally a sleepy shallow creek that runs underneath the asphalt driveway, and empties into the lake.  The small building is the boys’ clubhouse, high and dry.

rain at home

This view is from the kids’ back deck, with our house to the R.  The cove normally has very little water in it at this time of year, with the dock sitting on the mud.  The dock is floating!  The backyard has at least 3 places that drain into the lake, but it is so wet, the backyard above the porch railing is looking like a small pond (that is a real pond in the lower R corner).

These photos were sent to me by Jason yesterday.

And this is why MM and I are in Florida during the winter months:

Any questions?

Life is as good on this last day of January as you choose to make, so make it a great one!

Life is like photography. We develop from the negatives.

This doesn't look too too bad. Hopefully, it will drain off quickly. I slept through the rain last night and it's still too dark to see if we had any issues, but I think we're alright.

I miss Florida. Never thought I would but I do. I shall retire there one day. Warmer... and nearer the cruise port!

You're up bright and early, too! Hope you have a lovely day! big hugs xoxo

You dog, you! LOL We're on a 2-hr delay today. Our puddles drained, but the deck is icy. I imagine there are troubles on the road between the ice and the flooding. Stay warm and take care of yourself!

As far as I know, everyone around here is fine, just amazed at the strange weather. There was a little wind damage here and there yesterday, and some roads flooded because the water couldn't drain off fast enough. They are probably drained by this morning but the creeks and lakes will be feeling the effect for a while yet!

I don't have a question one. When hubby and I get through all this volunteering we're going to do the same thing. Yes we are. We'll figure out what warm place we want to visit and off we go.

Have a terrific day honey. Hope you're feeling better everyday. Big hugs. :)

wow, having seen all that in person, that's a lot of water.

And now it's cold? Geesh.

I guess the constant grey, rainy 30-50 degree winters aren't so bad up here. LOL! At least it's consistent!
