What did this???

Oh dear...not a pretty picture! This is a heavy-duty, large trash can that is up by Dick's shop, used to hold deer corn for when the food supply around here is low (we live next to a lot of Forest Service acreage, so we have lots of Bambi visitors). This culprit was no deer. We were driving out by the shop at lunch time, and saw Jason looking on the above clay bank where he found lots of LARGE paw prints...you know, the 'bear' variety. Sheesh. I like bears, but they belong waaayyy away from our house! Needless to say, we'll be on the look out for a bear with corn breath lurking around here somewhere.........and making lots of noise if we go outside after dark! Stay tuned...

our neighbor across the road had a very large bare on his deck, they are there and we moved into their homes.

Sandy, if you are close enough to know he has corn breath, you're in deep doo-doo! I say let the deer and the bear duke it out!

Sandy: My daughter had a bear visit her house about 2AM ! they thought it was the neighbor next door outside. She finally came down stairs and saw the bear in her metal trash can she keeps the bird seed in. The bear was having the time of his life eating all that bird seed,She said they watched him snack away in the window and he just kept eating never made a move or knew they were there watching. Somebody killed a 600lb bear a few days later they think it was the same bear. However she lives in the New Hampshire National Forest in Warren NH, up in the Mountians.

Hey, Barb! Nice to hear from you...how sad that the NH bear was killed. We haven't seen 'our guy' at all, and the trash can is uprighted and hasn't been disturbed. Hope he found a better dinner table elsewhere...hugz
