There is a butterfly sitting on top of this red flower in the butterfly house. You can click on it to bigify. We learned that 9:30a is the best time to see the butterflies swarming. We hit during their nap time it appears, because there weren't many to see. Drat.
Here is a pretty fella...or gal. Of course the brighter blue one I was trying to snap would never land for me...
You can sit on this guy and rest your buns for awhile...
We enjoyed our picnic of smoked cheese, crackers, fruit, veggies and wine...then drove back to the coach for a short nap...surfed, played with the kitties, then this is where we went for dinner. Note the Christmas lights hanging (and turned on!) from the gutters:
It looks like a dump, but was highly recommended and this was actually our second time here. Not on this trip, though. Check out the 'lovely' front door:

Sorry the flowers have faded. It was glorious two weeks ago! Give C+ a big hug from us when you get down there!!!
I was going to ask the same thing Bee asked. I sure hope the food was good
Food was good; wine was good. We have fun regardless of the circumstances. Why not?!!!
How wonderful for you to be traveling! We love to try out-of-the way places. In fact, our favorite Mexican food place here in town is in an alley in a not-so-good part of the city! But it sure beats the chain restaurants!
Be safe and have fun...
~~~Blessings~~~
Love the quote "Life is short, Make fun of it"! It's so true. The positive view of everything is great (and very refreshing)! :)
Mom loves Americus! She actually considered moving there instead of Valdosta. There was an old Victorian house just off downtown that she seriously considered making an offer on! It had 4 or 5 fireplaces in it and a huge wrap-around porch which she just loved. It was just a little too small-town for her! There's not too many restaurants there!
I hadn't been here since I was a teen and a lot has changed...love the old homes, and don't blame you, G&G, for wanting to buy one! Agree that Americus is a bit too small town for us as well:-)
