Yard update

Brian came over the other day and raked up the dead periwinkle, then began the task of laying down the black plastic ground cover, and removing the paving stones.

We got the predicted afternoon thunderstorms, along with this stuff—hail!:

I ran out onto the deck railing to remove my lovely fuchsia plant before it literally blew over, and I got totally soaked in that short while.   Now this is a covered deck, right?  But the rain was blowing in from the south HORIZONTALLY…practically all the way over to the doors!

And because of said rain, we only had 7 brave souls of the 11 show up for the supper club dinner, but we still had a great time.  The rain had slowed way down by then… and nobody melted.

Traveling Man has gone to Atlanta today to SELL a trailer!  And I have Cuban pork in the crockpot for a marbles night here with friends tonight…smelling mighty good…yum!

Have a fabulous Friday.  Life is good, y’all!

Wow! I was at Zumba while it hailed so I missed seeing it, glad you got the picture. And I'm glad the hail up here wasn't baseball sized like they got in Ellijay! Cuban pork sounds yummy. :-)

i talked to marty last night and he told me about the hail, lucky no tornados though, where there's hail there is a good chance and that is very scary! glad you are okay honey!

I'm glad everyone is okay. That's the most important part.

We're going to the island today so I'll be out of the loop until Tuesday.

Have a terrific Memorial Day weekend honey. Big hugs to you both. :)

Wow, that's quite a lot of hail! There have certainly been some very strange weather patterns lately, haven't there?

Hope that your traveling man has a safe trip to and from Atlanta!

Wish I had seen this sooner, because I would have been over for Cuban pork & marbles! I can't believe you go hail; we didn't get any. Can you believe how much the lake came up? I'm thankful you were able to rescue your fuschia.

My mother tried a new crock pot recipe yesterday, sort of a beef stroganoff thingy. Steak tips and onions celery and lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Everyone loved it, except me. I'm just not a beef person. Give me chicken and fish, please.

I've only seen hail a few times. Once was during Hurricane Jeanne. Yikes.

Sorry to be so late getting here. Blogger sucks a little bit lately, doesn't it?

Big hugs xo
