Saturday progress...

Dick has been hard at work layering rocks, rebar, and concrete to the end of our sidewalk. It is slopped down both sides so that heavy rigs can go across it without cracking the concrete again.
At least that is the plan.

And now that Dick is pretty much finished with that project, he moved to the back of our patio where he had already removed some ugly plants (we inherited the landscaping). He is filling in the area with paving stones and concreting them in. This will give us more usable patio area...and it will all eventually be prettied up with the topcoating.

He is now finished with all the messy work he is gonna do today, just in time for the rain to hit here. Plus he ran out of bags of concrete.
I am having an equally exciting day doing laundry, and am about to get a pot roast in the crock pot for tonight's dinner, watch the Olympics, and go to Wally World. We live such exciting lives.
So what's for dinner at your house? Enjoy your Saturday.

Definite progress is being made! I think we're having taco soup at Amy's, so I'm thawing meatballs that I've fixed and will make Mel Tillis Cornbread to take too. Yum!

We had ribs at a famous rib joint in Murphysboro, IL. Now relaxing by the fire...

Dinner tonight was at a pizza place near my Mom's where she took Amanda and I to after we finished up a little shopping at Target and Michael's. The resident artist needed some more watercolor paper and other assorted 'tools of the trade'.

And on a good note, one could almost see blue sky today and tonight's full moon was clear as a bell. Yay!

Oh, and Dick is doing a fantastic job! Can't wait to see how that new back area looks once you've got it all purtied up!

If this were our house, we'd be breaking out the Ben Gay! When we first moved here the backyard consisted of flower beds and huge blocks of concrete and we have two dogs. So, hubman got to work and, with the help of a couple much younger men, wrestled that out and he wound up hurting for days. But the dogs were quite happy to have grass!
I had a delightful can of Dennison's chili and hubman had a protein shake. We really know how to live it up!
~~~~Blessings~~~~
Good morning! Sounds like Dick is having all the fun!!! It's 7:00 AM and we're headed back to TN and cold country. Of course Orlando hasn't exactly been warm this week and it's down right cold in New Smyrna Beach! Sorry we couldn' make it further south this trip, but we did get lots of estste stuff done.
