Cheap suds

Frugal Amy gifted her family with a laundry detergent recipe and a sample jar of the product last Christmas, and I have been using and making some since. Easy peasy.

Grate the bar of Fels Naptha:

Add 3 cups of each of these and place in a large container with lid:

Shake, Shake, Shake. It was so easy, I made a double batch while everything was out. It took maybe 15 minutes, start to finish, including clean up.

Finished product, ready for work!

Recipe:
1 bar of Zote or Fels Naptha soap
3 cups Borax
3 cups Arm and Hammer Washing Soda

Use 2 Tbsp per load

Lasts for months and costs less than $10.

Did I mention that this is easy? And is a good product. Goodbye, Tide! Hello, money in MY pocket, and clean duds.

Let me know if you try this, peaches.

Happy clean Tuesday, y'all!

This looks so easy that maybe even a bachelor like me could do it :)

Looks very easy indeed and certainly a lot cheaper. You rock.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. ☺

I use Wisk... with oxi-clean if they have it in-stock at the Walmart... which sometimes they don't and it annoys me to no end. I prefer liquid to powders and I like how it smells. A lot of detergents have smells I find really ACK.

So, Wisk works for me.

Have a nice, clean day! big hugs xoxo

I use a similar recipe. Love it. I use a fine microplane grater on my soap. Doing while watching TV. I know that's labor intensive, but I get a finer granule.

I love it. No perfumes and the clothes really come out clean! I also keep a backup of the Fels Naptha soap for stubborn stains. Got an old established grease black grease spot outta my favorite jeans :)
