Sandy the Temp

So here I sit at the church office for a second day, filling in for our vacationing parish administrator.

The big church celebration project I'm working on is on this computer, so at least I am getting work done on that. Of course this project is set up in a fancy program that I don't know well, so there is that awful learning curve to contend with...but I'm learning as I play editor. And vacationing Maureen, when she is here, is a helpful instructor.

Still no leaf photos to share. We've had rain and overcast, so I promise photos soon when the sun cooperates.

Since I am at the church office, y'all get a church funny today:

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex standing in the foyer of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names and small American flags mounted on either side of it. The six-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly, 'Good morning, Alex.'

'Good morning, Pastor,' he replied, still focused on the plaque. 'Pastor, what is this? '

The pastor said, 'Well son, it's a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service.' Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque.

Finally, little Alex's voice, barely audible and trembling with fear asked, 'Which service, the 8:30 or the 10:30?'

Happy Thursday, y'all! Share a smile with someone today.

Oh, that's a coffee snorter! Too funny! I love figuring out new programs. Not with a deadline looming, in my own time.

What a cute little joke! I have to admit, there have been church services in the past that I thought for sure were going to go on so long I'd end up dieing in my pew!
