Happy Labor Day

labor day

A public holiday or day of festivities held in honor of working people, in the US and Canada on the first Monday in September.

However…in reality, it is more of an annual “goodbye summer” celebration, a time for cookouts, final boat rides and swimming at the lake, and time to put away those white summer shoes!

Unfortunately, Mr. Sun didn’t get the memo for today’s activities.  It is overcast, with rain expected.  Bugger.

But it is game on tonight…boys vs girls in marbles.  Regardless of which team wins, it will be a great evening with food, fun, and friends.  Now that is a winning combination!

Enjoy life, y’all…it is not a dress rehearsal!

Since I am sewing today, I don't mind the rain. And the game on for me tonight will be GA Tech vs VA Tech, although I am not sure I will like the outcome, I will watch and cheer anyway! And I will pretend that it is already fall and cool weather! Have a great day, no matter what the weather does.

It's a beautiful day here in California and we're still on the boat. We don't really want to go home either, but we have to be back on Thursday for a cruise out so we'll go home. For us this isn't the end of summer, but it is for many. Pretty soon the water will be all ours and we're looking forward to that.

I know that you'll make the most of today, rain or not. It's just how you roll. We are much alike. I like that.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

Nice day here in Connecticut though I spent a good part of it on the road driving back from Massachusetts however, I got back plenty early to avoid any of the late-day holiday travelers who just didn't want to let the last holiday weekend of the summer go!

Have fun at tonight's marble tournament - I bet there's fun all the way around for everyone!

It was grey here today as well, perfect weather to curl up in bed with The Wonder Years on Netflix.
