Hay, y'all!

Aren't these guys cute?!  After seeing a bazillion bales of hay this summer out west, I guess I am on a hay kick right now.  Friend Alice sent me these photos of "what bored farm kids do," so I have no idea who snapped the photos.  I do know that the piggy bale was snapped down in South Georgia, because I have passed by (and visited) the establishment in the background, but I have no idea where the many others were taken.  Yes, there are more to follow:)  I won't post the ones showing real people in them, but I do have a few more cute ones to show y'all.

Dick and I will have all four grands here for an overnight tonight.  We may be bonkers and hitting the bottle by bedtime!  I'll be fixing crockpot lasagna so that I won't be tied to the kitchen when they arrive.  Wish me luck.  All around!  Come help if ya want to!!!  We'll share lasagna and our bottle with all helpers:)

This is what I'll be making, since Lisa asked...I'll let y'all know how it turns out:

1 ½ lbs spicy Italian sausage

1 L onion
sliced mushrooms
1 L container ricotta cheese
2 jars pasta sauce
1 box whole wheat lasagna noodles

Chop onion and sauté with mushrooms. Add sausage, cook till brown and drain off fat.

Layering is important. Cover bottom of crockpot with sauce, then add one layer of noodles, one layer of cheese, one layer of sausage, one layer of sauce, one layer of noodles.

Repeat as many times as you like, making sure top and bottom are sauce.

Cover and cover 6-8 hours.

~~How easy is this?!  And friend Janet swears it is good, and she knows her pasta, let me tell ya!

Crock-pot lasagna? You'll be sharing the recipe, right?

I love hay bales. I especially enjoy watching them being baled. Actually, I enjoy men working in the tractors doing the hay baling and stacking and...

I'm sorry... what was the question?

Big hugs :]

Ok, love the hay bails... but, more importantly, where can I find CROCK POT LASAGNA recipes? I have never heard of such a thing, but am completely intrigued.

I just had a conversation with coworkers yesterday about my severe lack of cooking skills (thanks to growing up with a single father, I learned how to cook by reading directions on the box!).

I am determined to use my crock pot as much as possible so the meals are ready when I get home from work.

Yep, crockpot lasagna sounds divine!

The hay bales are just way too cute! People can be so creative, can't they?

I made crockpot lasagna for work one day and everyone absolutely loved it - it was surprising to see how good it came out, too! Of course, now they've been nagging at me to make it again but do you think I can find the recipe that I used? Nope! I'll just have to use yours the next time instead as I'll always know right where to find it!

Good luck with those grands tonight; I'm sure ya'll will have an awesome time!

I'll come over and help. I adore any pasta dish. A. Lot.

Have fun honey as I know you will. We are off to the boat to get ready for our annual bay cruise that starts next Thursday. Finally going somewhere that I don't have to do the work. Life is good.

Have a terrific day and weekend. Big hugs. :)
