Celebrate life!

Each and every day is precious, and truly a gift from God.

Heaven welcomed a new angel yesterday, one that was expected.  My sweet nephew Paulie, born 42 years ago with Down Syndrome, is suffering no more, breathing the sweet air of heaven, and released from his earthly body that required an oxygen tether for the past few months.  He told his family in the wee hours of the morning that "Unka Mickey is here.  I saw him.  He said everything's gonna be OK."  And it was.  I'm sure Unka Mickey and Grandmother were vying for first position in the welcoming committee!

I can smile at that thought, but get sad in my selfishness in wanting more hugs and kisses from this loving guy.  He was truly special.

Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save *stuff* for a special occasion. Today is special.  Celebrate life!

Ahh, that one gave me goose bumps. So glad he saw a welcoming face at the end. And so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers to you and your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My grandmother told my mother she saw Jesus at the door and that she was going home just hours before she left this earth. It still gives me chills and sadness... and great joy.

Big hugs xo

what a powerful post. I am so saddened by the loss you and your family feel but also encouraged by the words spoken by your nephew--that someone was waiting for him on the other side. My thoughts are with you...

You are so right. Sounds like you 'Traveling Bells' are doing just that.

I'm so sorry honey. So very sorry. At least we know he's with Unka Mickey and grandma. That's a precious thing to know.

I love your last paragraph the very best. Exactly.

Have a terrific day honey. Super big hugs. :)

This post brought tears to my eyes - not just for your loss but for the wonderful welcome that Paulie received as he made his journey from this world to the next.

Hugs to you!

OK, now you went and made me cry again! With a story like that, how can you not believe in Heaven?

Thanks for the reminder to live each day to its fullest. I needed that today!

I'm misty eyed, too. What a wonderful blessing he must have been! People with Down Syndrome are among the sweetest I have ever met. I'm so glad that he saw hands of those he loved to help him enter the Kingdom of God. Beautiful....
