Just another day in paradise

P1020190

Check out our early morning visitors last Saturday!  I was going to enjoy my morning coffee out on the deck but happened to spot these beauties down the cove before I opened the door.  Instead of going out, I grabbed my camera and zoomed in as best I could…through a window.

Dick looked through the trusty binoculars and discovered that at least two were sporting horns.  We see these same four quite a bit here in the hood.  Our property and the forest service next door is literally their “home range.”  They pretty much stay and live within about one square mile.  We have plenty of trees for cover, and leaves, limbs and nuts for them to munch on.  This is “rut (mating) season,” so hopefully we will have a a bunch of pretty fawns in the spring.

What in nature has made you smile lately?

We are enjoying the sound of a light falling rain, plus the laughter of two wee boys. Life is good!

Look at your cruise looming right around the corner. We are going with you. Just saying.

This mornings smile was all the birds that we feed in the back yard. They sing and eat and then go to the fountain for a bath and a drink. They always make me smile.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hug to you both. :)

It's just SO cool to have wildlife right where you live, isn't it? I had a first the other day with an armadillo in my front yard!

Big hugs xoxo

Great rack!

Couldn't resist. Haha.

I have seen more bucks this year than any other year I can remember. Wondering if the PA rule that you can't shoot 'em unless they have three horns is working. Leaving the little guys to come back bigger and better the next year.

I miss seeing the deer that normally come to our yard & check out the feeders & what is left in the garden. our state dept has cleared them out pretty much in our area, they say we have the CWD disease :( but the ones we watched looked very healthy.
