Our resident pole dancer…

Missy pole dancer

But hers was NOT the loud growl/roar that woke us up out of a sound sleep at the awful hour of 5:15!  MM jumped out of bed, instructing me to find Missy while he opened the door to the deck and bravely walked outside.

Missy was cautiously curious, found looking out a window herself.  MM saw something fat moving off the deck.  Raccoon, maybe?  Do they give a kitty roar?  I don’t know about that.  And I didn’t see the critter.  It was still DARK.  So guess which one of us was able to get back to sleep?  Oy…it will be a LONG day, but since I didn’t get a post up last night, here I sit at the computer, with coffee and the morning news in the background.

Missy brought in another ‘friend’ into the house yesterday…a baby snake that I rescued (in an empty shoe box, brave me) and dumped outside…to hopefully learn to be quicker than our girl.  Or not.

Life is never dull, living so close to the forest.  But we did get treated to the beautiful sight of four deer running across our front yard a couple of days ago, just above where that ugly old propane tank used to sit.

Has Mother Nature given you a treat lately?  If not, look for one.  It’s there.

Yikes... was it... dare I say it... A BEAR!? They are probably active these days gathering food for hibernation.

last night a gaggle of Canada Geese flew by and made a different noise than their usual thing and we just cracked up. Sounded like a bunch drunken cackling old women on a holiday...

Probably a pesky old Tom cat on the prowl. We have tons of feral cats here and am always hearing something. The neighbor's outside cat and one of the ferals had a little face-off just a few minutes ago and all of mine were in my windowsill watching attentively. The neighbor cat won this round and the feral bolted off... right after I hissed at him!

MM is brave. I can hiss through the screen, thankyouverymuch!

Enjoy another day in Paradise! Big hugs xoxo

Never heard a racoon roar, who knows if they do? I was wondering about a bear. They are indeed active in our area.

How awful that you were awakened so early and not being able to go back to sleep. I just hate that.

Hubby has a gun club meeting once a month (he's the secretary) and when he got home last night he told me that he saw three deer on is way out of the gun club. It made me smile.

I'd would rather live in the country than in the city. Neighbors that are too close are just that...too close.

Have a terrific day honey. Maybe you can get a nap in. Big hugs. :)

I'd like the four deer and would definitely pass on seeing a snake.
I wonder what it was that you saw that roared? MM was brave!

The main thing we get around here are coyotes and crows.

I need to get Tesla one of those nice kitty poles and then maybe he'd stop breaking things around the house like the window blinds and everything else he has to climb into and around!

I hope that whatever it was that came by to visit doesn't make a return trip!
