I mentioned to MM that the open part of our deck could use a little shade, maybe some of that lattice-work stuff. Or something.
He whipped out the tape measure, measuring this way and that way, and made a few trips to the box store, checking out this and that. He bought some lumber. And got busy. Man on a mission! Build the framework first…
Sit and think awhile…change of plans! Eureka…a better idea…back to the box store, cut and add more supports…
Call Jason (muscle power) and get him to come over and help carry and lift up the solar panels that will be the roof…instead of lattice panels. Brilliant! This is a better location for the panels than where he had originally planned to place them. Plus this gives us more shade.
Note the OSHA approved ladder set up. NOT!
Six panels up. This is enough work for today. The end. Thanks, Jas!
Thanks, honey. You are making great progress, even if you are a bit blurry here.
Life is hot but good in paradise! But we’ll have some more shade. I like that.

Cara Sandy!
I wanted to ask you about MM new activities..I guessed he'd have not be always looking at the Tour de France!!!
His mind and his hands are in continuous activity!
You, lucky girl!
Have a great week!
Hugs!!!
Looks good! I didn't realize he was working on a new project, but I'm not surprised. We will have to check it out soon and make sure it's working well. Handy guy!
MM is so smart! But then we all know that. Do you have the solar panels to offset the electricity bills? How cool! Does it save you a lot?
Brilliant. Instead of just deflecting the sun, put it to work for you!
It was still 91 degrees on my covered patio at 8:30 last night. Yuck.
big hugs from muggy south jawjah! xoxo
What a great idea- solar panels for shade! MM is pretty amazing. But we knew that...
ROLF! Don't worry, I am OSHA and I saw nothing. What ladder? As long as no one got hurt! Srsly!!!
Wow! A man of action, how impressive. What a good idea too.
i swear that man can do anything!!! be sure to call sarge if he needs any help with a plastic butter knife though, he'll be right over!!

glad to see your blog because I need some shade too! Its so hot here in TX. I was trying to think how I would make some shade for my above ground pool deck too.
check out my blog sometime, I just started it.
Dick is indeed a very handy guy. I'm impressed.
If we wanted to do the same thing here it would take months/years to complete. The building permit. The taxman will want to tax you more because your house is worth more. You know things that California is so famous for. RED TAPE!
Have a terrific day honey. Enjoy the shade. :)
Mrs. Willy says that Willy is the only person that can take a one hour job and turn it into a week long project.
