Raise your hand if you remember the days of buying a pound bag of coffee and it actually weighing a full pound. There is no such thing as consistency these days, except for the fact that the bags are consistently weighing less and less, while we the consumers are still paying the same or higher prices. These first two bags are 12 oz and 11.5 ozs...
...while these four from the same company have FOUR different weights: 12, 11, 10 and 9 oz, respectively.
At least I got a BOGO on that puny 9 oz bag, but still! Do these companies think we don't notice that we are getting less product? Yes, I know this is a ploy for the companies to keep money in their coffers, while they hope the consumer won't notice. So I say...Clip those coupons! Purchase BOGOs! Fight back...and keep the 'green' in YOUR pocket.I'm stepping down from my soapbox. Thank you very much for letting me vent.

Unfortunately this is oh-so-true. We can no longer buy a 5-lb bag of sugar. It has shrunk to 4 lbs.
Oh, I notice! I'm a cost per ounce price checker! When they don't put it on the label I whip out my calculator! Yes, I do! And I'm a BOGO shopper and a Coupon Clipper. I use my store cards. I pay with my credit card and I get 5 points for every dollar spent at the grocery store and then they send me a nice check for using their card. Smart shopper? Yes, I am!
I forgot to ask. How is the Dark Italian? I haven't tried that one yet. I must say that I was disappointed with most of the New England coffees... but I tried them while I was still breaking in my new coffee pot, so I may not have given them a fair shake.

What Sarge said! It's a disgrace what they pass off as a box of ice cream these days! Seems like you can barely get a couple of decent servings out of one anymore. Next thing you know they'll be putting 10 eggs in a carton and still calling it a dozen!
I've noticed this too. What Barb said is what we do too. Cost per ounce shoppers we are.

Our favorite 8 o'Clock coffee.. Never looked at the size but we love it. Mike grounds the beans and makes THE BEST COFFEE!! Thanks for stopping by!!
