Where's mama bear???

Last night we were driving home from Jim and Janet's house around 10p. We rounded a curve and saw what we thought was a black shaggy dog running in the left lane, going in our direction. I told Dick to be careful about the.......about to say DOG, when I noticed this critter had no tail! It was a bear cub!!! Obviously not this one, but try googling for a bear-in-the-road, night-time picture! I certainly couldn't get out my camera fast enough, plus he darted under the barbed wire fence along the road and disappeared. Dick stopped and shined the headlights into the cow pasture, but of course we couldn't spot the cute critter anywhere out in all that darkness. I knew mama had to be around, so we just left them in peace...but it sure was a fun sight......
And today this mama is off shopping with her girls. Of course Will has to go with us, cuz he is a 'nature baby' and can't be away from his mama for too long. He's the only boy allowed today though:-) I'll catch up later...hope y'all have a Wonderful Wednesday!

They are cute but I don't want to be around that mama bear! I saw a large one on Hwy 76 several years back, at night, and thought it was a dog until it STOOD UP! At which point I was almost past it. But have seen several through the years. None yet this season, though.
Have a fun day w/your girls and Will.
Hugs, Joy

Hey, y'all! We had a successful day shopping and are all tired. The only bears spotted today were stuffed ones:-)

How cool!! Nice to see a baby cub in the wild...you are always talking about bears..you must have them a lot there where you live!! I don't think there are any bears here..alligators though..never saw one in the wild yet and well I am not looking forward to that either..blessings,
