TBT–Tour de GA

Brian & Lance '04

This photo is of Brian giving Lance his third place stage win at the ‘06 Tour de Georgia.  Brian and I were both on the local organizing committee to put on this race through the GA Alps.  It began on a chilly morning in Mayberry that day, and ended up at Georgia’s highest peak, Brasstown Bald.  We had a blast!  MM got to tag along for all the festivities, of course.

Brian and I are still watching the current TdF every day…and remembering the thrill of actually BEING there for several segments of the race.  Good memories with our sweet son.

Somewhere or other, we have photos of that trip to France with Brian for the ‘03 Tour de France.  Bugger.  I need to dig a little deeper on MM’s computer to find them.

Live…love…laugh…and make some good memories!

Thanks for sharing this with us. It's shame that Lance messed up in his life. He was doing so well for everyone. Oh well, that's life.
Have a brilliant Thursday Sandy. See ya.

I was in Paris at the 1990 TDF. Watched the cyclists go by from the roof of the Musee D'Orsay.

I remember that day! I didn't make it up to the Bald for the finish but I helped Sandy at the start of the day and watched the racers depart from the park, then went to another spot or two to see them go by. It was great fun! (I think I still have the t-shirt!)

Good times for sure! I was the third place finisher "podium girl", as we call them, handing out flowers. Lo and behold, Lanceypants finished third that day. Sheryl Crow was dating him at the time. Yes, too bad his empire fell like the barbarian he was....
