These photos were stamped “Dec 62,” but the prom was actually back in the spring of that year. The first one was taken from just inside our front door. I always loved that piece of furniture behind me. We called it a “secretary,” because there was (is) a desk section right behind me on the right side of it. Nan has this piece, the little stinker.
Here is a 180 shot, next to the fire place that contained a gas heater:
Date Johnny died a few years ago, but I did see him at some of the class reunions. He was a really nice guy.
Too bad these aren't in color because I can’t remember exactly what color the dress was. I’m thinking it was a mint green because I do sort of remember the orchid he gave me having a green bow on it. His mom was a florist, so she did an extra good job on the corsage for this special occasion.
How ‘bout those gloves?! I was definitely styling back in those days. Fond memories for sure. This is the little house I grew up in, back when it was all white, had more trees around it, as well as a big Camellia bush and flowers out front. My Mother could make a fence post sprout, and loved working in the yard. Me, not so much.
Ten years after that prom, I was a married lady with a baby. These have been the best years, thanks to my very special MM.
Life is precious, y’all. Enjoy it now…make some good memories.

Oh, I just LOVE the dress! Why don't they make really pretty frocks like that any more?
and gloves? Yes! We always had cute little white gloves back in the day. Now you never see them. At least I don't over at the Walmart. ;)
big hugs xoxo
Good memories! Pretty dress.
You were stylin' indeed! How wonderful to have pictures that show the inside of your house as it was then.
You were (and still are) beautiful! I love your dress and gloves.
Sure glad Sandy has a thing for guys with big ears.
I so remember that being the way to dress back in the day and you had to have the gloves or it wasn't complete. You were/are adorable.
Yes, MM is your soul-mate. Yes indeed. We've both been blessed with mighty fine men.
Have a fabulous day honey. Big hugs to you and tons of scritches to the babies. ♥♥♥
