Hammerfest, Norway

Another sleepy fishing village above the tree line that was basically destroyed in WW2.

It is Sunday, so everything is pretty much closed and the church bells are ringing.

We caught the port shuttle to ride across to the city center and found a free signal. We will walk about and enjoy the view, then take the shuttle back to the ship.

There was no show last night, since we were in port till late, so MM and I enjoyed the guitarist and then saw The Life of Pi. It was interesting, but we were happy we had not paid extra for it. In case anyone wants to know.

Have yourselves a ginger peachy day, y'all! We sure will.

Sounds like this isn't as nice a cruise as Carnival puts on. I'm just guessing here. You used to sign off on your post WYWH and you're not doing that.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. ☺

I wonder if you're up in the area where hubby's uncle lived during WWII. He grew up in Austria and was "recruited" (by gunpoint) to serve in Wehrmacht in Norway. In his later years he emigrated to the US to teach Americans how to Nordic style (cross-country), skiing working through a major ski manufacturer. Last we hear he was still alive and kicking in Tahoe.
