Mallard duo

Content in the pond, not flying away when I walked by yesterday.

Yes, that is an albino female mallard, and let me tell you, her male is very protective of her. Very.

I was outside in our deck the other day and heard an awful commotion down in the cove, so I walked to the edge and looked out to see what it was---another male was trying to get his woman! No way. Feathers flew, beaks pecked, and that new fella finally took the hint and flew away.

Contentment. They have it. Maybe there will be some interesting looking babies this spring. I hope. We've always had mallards coming to this pond (our old pond--now belonging to Amy and Jason).

The pond is all yours, Mr. and Mrs. Mallard, but you have to share with the koi. And that other pair of mallards who visit occasionally. But that's it, well, except for that pesky Barkley doggie who likes to swim occasionally. Be kind to him; he lives there!

Life is filled with all kinds of critters here in Mayberry. We like that, especially the two who share their home with us.

Have yourselves a ginger peachy day! We sure will, despite the clouds.

This is what we experience when we go to the boat. There are fish, all kinds of birds and watching them is so fun.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from hot and sunny California. ☺

I used to love to see Mallards, but I've never seen an albino one.

Ciao Sandy!
Today we did a short walk, and we saw a big dark mallard in the courtyard of a condo, it was so strange, and no one knew where it was from!!!

Have a great we!
