This is the beautiful entrance to America’s first wing coaster at Dollywood, known as the Wild Eagle…
Up, up and awwaaay…
And then this ride takes you straight down, and then into a loop, a 360 roll, back into another loop, then into another 360 roll, a hard L and then a R turn and back to the station…in 2 minutes, 14 seconds.
Now you know why Dan and I sat on the wall and waited for these smiling (crazy) survivors. MM says to sit in the outside seats…for more motion. Check.If you have the nerve to try this out for yourself

I went to SEE the actual eagles when I was at Dollywood, but I surely didn't ride this one. I do remember they had a fascinating eagle show. That was probably early 1990's...

I don't do roller coasters. They are skeery. My brothers like them. I'll leave the riding to them.

They do have a great raptor show now and work very hard there caring for birds that cannot be rehabilitated. Seeing a bald eagle- or any of the other birds- up close is an amazing experience.
The Wild Eagle ride was also an amazing experience! It is absolutely the smoothest coaster I've ever ridden. It was way cool!
Coasters are not my thing. At.All. Although for some weird reason I do ride Space Mountain at Disney every once in a while. (Read NO LINES and someone I've come with wants to ride it). Of course it's not near as high, there are no loopty loops and it's not near as fast.
Basically, it's for a 7-year old. ;)
In other words, move over, I'm sittin' with you!

I'm not a huge fan of coasters, but I think I would try this. It kind of looks fun.
Not very keen on roller coasters but enjoy watching other people screaming on them!
