Awards and smiles and stuff

Pardon me while this proud “auntie” brags on Joy’s daughter.  Last night I had the pleasure of attending the YHC Alumni Awards Dinner to watch Melissa accept the 2012 Young Alumni Achievement Award.  She was joint enrolled at the college during her last two years of high school.  After that, she continued her education and is now a pediatrician, married to her best friend.

And she is gonna make Joy a grammie next month!

We are ALL very excited about this new arrival.  Stay tuned.

And I had the pleasure of talking with and getting a hug from former P1030240Georgia Governor Zell Miller, who has always been an asset to the North GA Mountains.  MM and I have a long history with this gentleman.  He and MM butted political heads many times over the years, but they came to a mutual respect for each other.  Srsly.  He wants MM to come see him.  He will.  With pleasure.

Life is good in rainy paradise.  Have yourself a smiley day, y’all!

Thanks, Bee! Great pictures, Sandy. Email me the rest, please? It was a fun evening for Melissa's posse of admirers.

We are so very, very proud of Melissa! (Funny that we both have her on our blog right now- mine in the scrappy/card form though.)

I hope that Dad will make time to catch up with Zell.

Life is short. Play hard.
