Our kids have this vivid memory of our trip to Crater Lake back in '89...chipmunks! They were more fascinating to the them than that big ole lake, but what would you expect when they lived on a lake already. And it took ALL DAY to get there. Bummer...boring. They were not interested in history nor geology...until they heard about these places in school, and could say that they had been there. They had seen this stuff with their own eyes! Then the stories came alive and became real.
That the fun of traveling with kids! NOT...
Have a fun Thursday, y'all!

Ciao Sandy!!!
The kids love first to see the nature, then the history...it's important to record their experiences then the interest in history and geology comes out!!!!
Have a great thursday!!!!!!
Hugs!!!
Your kids were blesses all the way around... living on a lake surrounded by beauty and having two parents that showed them the beauty all around America.
I don't know why but this seems to be true... people where I'm from in MA never seem to move from their own immediate area... a few miles, perhaps 25 or 50. Except for me, my familt all lives with 30 minutes of each other to this day!
And I adore Chipmunks! I know you're having a ball! Carry on! Big hugs :)
OK... I can barely type with her keyboard. Sorry about all those typos! :)
Okay now I know why Barb had so many typos. She usually doesn't have any. Got it.
Kids don't seem to appreciate many things until they have kids of their own. I know your kids know you gave them tons of interesting opportunities that many kids didn't get. Good for you. Just saying.
Have a terrific day honey and enjoy the chipmunks and all the other beauty. Big hugs. :)
Chipmunks OUTSIDE the moho are cute as they can be. Inside...a whole different story. Hugs...
chipmonks are very cool, we had some on our mountain in podunk.
Oh you know you loved that trip!!! I bet it's not nearly as fun without us. LOL
We do appreciate all that you've done for us, so I want to THANK YOU! I love you! Just sayin' in case you forgot.
So did you see any chipmunks?!?!?!
i remember one trip taking the boys (grandsons) to costa maya to the ruins, they were studying that in school at that time. they thought it was really cool!

Sandy, thank you sooooo much for this photo! I stole it to keep. Feeding the chipmunks there were an experience that has stayed with me since I first did it at the age of 9 or 10. I did love and appreciate the lake too though!!
