Before and after

Thirsty, really old chair:

After one application of lemon oil:

I think I heard a big slurp sigh of relief from this old oak.

Three more to go, plus the table.

Amy has dibs on this set that we use as a game table. I bought it way back in the early '80s from Antique Warehouse in WPB, and she has always claimed it as hers. Where is she when it needs some polishing?!

Polishing furniture was my weekly Saturday duty as a child. Or at least that is the way I remember it. I can say for a fact that weekly tradition hasn't been fulfilled as an adult. It is a boring duty...but necessary. And I just couldn't go another day, seeing these dry chairs. Poor things, but they will feel a little snazzy when I am done.

At least my assistants aren't interfering. Missy is outside, and KC is sleeping on our bed.

It's just another Wednesday in our mountain paradise. I like that. And our chairs are gonna be happy, at least for awhile.

I remember doing the wood in the house on a regular basis. Now it's a rare event. They do get thirsty don't they.

Have a fabulous day honey. Big hugs to you and scritches to the babies. ♥♥♥

I'm sure those chairs are much happier now. Just one of those jobs that nobody notices unless it doesn't get done!

I can definitely see a difference. The chair in the after picture looks refreshed :)

I think I saw it smile.

I remember those tasks. Between the basic oil and old english on other stuff. Yup. That and polishing silver.

Happy wood! Lemon Pledge and one of Dad's old t-shirts was 'the thing' in our house growing up. Nowadays I vacuum or swiffer the dust. Or in my case, cat hair. Oy.

Have a mahvelous day in the mountains! big hugs xoxo
