Yes, that carrot cake was delish, and the cream cheese frosting was only tinted yellow to go with the John Deere theme to please our wee boy. If you biggify, you will notice “sand” in the buckets. It was edible sand—vanilla wafers! There is NO cake in this house today…or ice cream either. Dang.
But we do have something even better: some long-time friends are arriving today for an overnight with us. I’m thinking a pontoon boat ride, then grilled chicken. Haley is bringing smoked potato salad and Asian salad; Amy is bringing cauliflower and carrots. And I have green beans. Dinner is shaping up, but what’s for dessert? Not that we need it…but still…
What’s for dinner at your house?
May each of you have a day that is blessed with family and friends. Life is good in paradise, y’all!

We are all out of cake & ice cream too. See you this evening!
That cake is fabulous! Love the sand idea!
No cake here. Bugger. But better not to have temptation staring at me!
Enjoy your guests! Nothing much exciting going on here except the countdown to vacation!
big hugs xoxo
Heading East to visit the PNW Alps. How about cut up fruit for dessert?
Enjoy your visitors! Oh, and Congratulate Dan and Joan on their new airstream for me. Is it new-new? or did they buy an older model?
Have fun with your visitors. I know you will.
We are heading off to the boat this afternoon and we have leftover turkey and fresh asparagus and a nice salad for dinner. The view is the very best off the back of our boat too.
Have a terrific day and weekend honey. Big hugs from sunny California. :)

Ciao Sandy!
We buy a lot of ice cream, then I'll bake no pie or cake, oo hot!
Is the recipe of the carrot cake on the Dyer dining
Have a lovely week end!
Big hugs!
No cake at my house, either, but that is a good thing. Too tempting if it is there. I'm meeting Pappy and Cathy for salad and pizza tonight, though, so maybe I'll sneak in a cinnamon breadstick for desert.
